Our representative will assist you with pick-up and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is kept free for acclimatization. You are advised to stay indoors and take complete rest, as proper acclimatization is essential at this altitude. Wearing warm/heavy woollens is recommended. Overnight stay at the hotel in Leh. Why acclimatization is mandatory – Leh is at an elevation of 11,500 ft. approximately above sea level. When you scale such heights, your body may not get enough time to adapt to the changing surroundings. Though most people do not experience symptoms of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) in Leh. But it is advisable to be cautious and be alert for symptoms of AMS. The most common symptoms of AMS are headache, disturbed sleep, loss of appetite, coughing and irregular breathing. One should avoid smoking tobacco, alcohol and caffeine-based drinks as they dehydrate the body and interfere with the process of acclimatization. Day 02: Leh Monastery Tour After breakfast, proceed for a full-day sightseeing tour around Leh. Visit: Hemis Monastery, Thiksey Monastery, Shey Palace Druk Padma Karpo School (popularly known as Rancho School) Sindhu Ghat, Shanti Stupa & Leh Palace Return to the hotel in the evening. Overnight stay in Leh. Day 03: Leh- Nubra Valley: After breakfast, drive towards Nubra Valley via the world-famous: Khardung La, enjoy breathtaking views from one of the highest motorable passes in the world. Upon arrival in Nubra Valley, explore: Hunder village Hunder Sand Dunes Check in to the hotel/camp. Overnight stay in Nubra Valley. Day 04: Nubra Valley – Pangong: Early morning visits the most picturesque Disket monastery on the hill top then drive to Pangong it takes around 5 hours to reach. Pangong lake is situated at 13,930 ft. About 4300 mts. Above sea level and is 125 km long, but it is only four km at its widest and extends almost in a straight line, way to Tibet; in fact, only a quarter of the lake is in India. Overnight stay in Camp at Pangong Lake. Day 05: Departure Leh Airport: After breakfast, transfer to Leh Airport for your onward journey. En route, visit Chang La Pass, one of the highest motorable passes in the world, and Druk Padma Karpo School, popularly known as the “3 Idiots School” from the movie 3 Idiots. Continue your drive to the airport to board your flight, carrying wonderful memories of Kashmir & Ladakh.
